Apple Lowers Price of SSD-Drive MacBook Air
July 3, 2008
AppleInsider noticed a $500 drop in the price of the Solid State Drive (SSD)-equipped MacBook Air.
The MacBook Air with a 64GB Solid State Drive was priced at $3098 yesterday, but is down to $2598 as of this morning. It’s a tempting offer for those in the market for a slim, lightweight laptop.
The price drop is easily explained by the fact that Apple reduced the price of the Air’s 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor upgrade by $100, and cut the cost of the 64GB SSD drive to $599.
For now, the SSD drive remains at 64GB, but once the SSD drive is available with more than 100GB the MacBook Air will be even more tempting than it already is.
