I think those of us who spend time talking about and writing about technology and music make more of the DRM issue than the average consumer. Most iTunes users play their music on iPods, on their computers or burn it to CD’s. They use iTunes because it is convenient and works well with their iPods.

If DRM was of significant importance to the average user, Amazon would’ve had customers FLOCK to them to buy MP3’s, especially since Amazon already offers deep discounts on album downloads.

But they didn’t because the interface and ease of use are more important than the rights protection for most people.

Doesn’t mean I’m not glad it’s gone or that it isn’t a move in the right direction though.

Let me clear up a few things boys...

The people that cannot access the exchange server at the office but works everywhere else.. this is not a router issue. From inside your own network you cannot resolve external DNS names that reside on your local network. You need to get the IT bloke to make sure he sets things up so that you can resolve the server.yourdomain.com from inside the local network. Plain and simple. He will know what to do.

Another thing, and let me be clear. The requirements for using an iphone with exchange are this:

1) you don't need 3g to do shit. You can use wifi to access the internet and therefore can use Exchange Active Sync to check exchange mail, etc. Apple licensed Active Sync from MS. You don't need to buy jack shit from your phone ISP (in otherwords, don't get taken behind the barn by at&t and sign up for them to host your exchange account.. rubbish.)

A new product offering is always a nice way to stimulate business. Right now my new favorite product to hit market has to be the Motorola Krave. I love the touch screen display. Check it out online at motorola.com/krave. I've been a big fan of this ever since I started working with motorola. It's awesome!

Very detailed article! I'm still interested to get some first impressions on the Motorola Krave. It also has a touch screen display along with vcast tv, which I saw a demo of and it's pretty sweet. I've been impressed with this phone a great deal ever since i started working with Motorola. Has anyone else seen the feature sheet on motorola.com/krave or actually own either one of these phones?

I am considering getting an Iphone G3 for use with our mail system, an exchange server.

If I do, will I be able to modify: tasks, contacts, calendar etc? In general any thoughts on the iphone to replace a pda?

Thanks

I notice from reading the site no one has mention this. Let say you dont have a business plan and your able to setup your exchange server. Now since the iphone needs the regular data plan will you be charge extra for setting up the exchange? I would hate to setup and run it for a month then get this big giant bill for setting up my exchange thing...

If anyone has setup this and has not bee changed anything then I guess I could set it up.

Just a thought

I haven't seen that problem. Could be that an Apple bug fix is needed on that.
